New Athletics and Activities Code of Conduct

Participation in athletic and extra-curricular activities is an important learning opportunity provided by Stafford County Public Schools.  Participation in athletic and extra-curricular activities provides opportunity for students to apply what they have learned in a context beyond the classroom, particularly in the areas of communication, collaboration, and leadership.

The Stafford County School Board recently approved an Athletics and Activities Code of Conduct for our students, staff and fans.  This code of conduct will be shared with our community, coaches, students and parents over the summer and throughout the school year.

Please keep in mind that participation in athletic and extra-curricular activities is not a right.  Failure to meet expectations outlined in this document, as well as in School Board Policy and the Student Code of Conduct, will result in disciplinary action.

Work hard. Play hard. Represent us well!

School Performance Report Card Survey

The Virginia Department of Education is asking parents and other members of the public to complete a 16-item online survey on improving annual School Performance Report Cards for schools, school divisions and the commonwealth.

2015 SUGGESTED SUMMER READING

Below is a link to our 2015 Summer Reading Lists.  Please be advised that although the summer reading lists were designed with your child’s rising grade level in mind, don’t feel limited to only those titles. The books listed are just suggestions; keep in mind that wonderful titles exist on the lists both above and below your child’s grade. There are also wonderful titles that are not on the list at all! Some books may be best read aloud, others may be read independently. It all depends on your child’s individual interests and background knowledge.

August 7-9, 2015, School Supplies and Clothing Sales Tax Holiday

During this three-day period, purchases of qualifying school supplies selling for $20 or less per item, and purchases of qualifying clothing and footwear selling for $100 or less per item will be exempt from sales tax. For details, click here for the Virginia's August Sales Tax Holiday: School Supplies and Clothing website.
2014-2015 SPECIAL EDUCATION PARENT INVOLVEMENT SURVEY

All parents of school-aged children and youth who receive special education services in Virginia’s schools are encouraged to complete the Virginia Department of Education’s annual Parent Involvement Survey. This survey is not intended to measure satisfaction with the special education program. It is designed to determine whether or not the school facilitated parent involvement. The English and Spanish versions of the survey have been combined into one survey with both languages.

If you have questions related to the Parent Involvement Survey, please contact Hank Millward hank.millward@doe.virginia.gov at the Virginia Department of Education (804) 371-0525.  Click here for the Parent Involvement Survey. Please complete the survey by September 30, 2015.
