Signature Programs Info Night Canceled

The annual Signature Programs Information Night scheduled for October 23, 2014, has been suspended for the 2014-2015 school year. This information night is designed to offer information regarding all signature programs offered at the high school level in one evening.  At this time, the Stafford County School Board is committed to the recently approved program evaluation process and plan to review all data to determine the best method for providing program options to our students.  We are confident that all Stafford County families and students will still be able to access information and make informed decisions regarding high school programs and opportunities.

Each high school will conduct a Rising 9th Grade Transition Night on February 11, 2015, for students and families scheduled to attend our high schools in the fall of 2015.  In addition, program specific information nights for each signature program will be hosted at various high schools to prepare students and families interested in applying for or accessing the programs.

Signature programs information sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • Commonwealth Governor’s School on November 17, 2014, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Colonial Forge & North Stafford high schools.
  • STAT, Stafford Academy for Technology on January 13, 2015, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at North Stafford High School
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) on February 4, 2015, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Brooke Point High School and on February 5, 2015, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Mountain View High School
  • Information programs on APPX (Advanced Placement Programs of Excellence), CTE (Career and Technical Education), and JROTC programs will be held during the Rising 9th Grade Transition Night on February 11, 2015, and will be offered at each high school where the program is available.
All instructional programs are being reviewed for availability and information included above is subject to change.  Please monitor our school websites or contact your school counselor for any updates and changes.
